A 46-year-old man was killed Friday morning when his pickup truck crashed into a utility pole.

Just before 6:30 a.m. a small pickup truck driven by Ken Josephson crashed into a utility pole on North Country Club Road near East Third Street. Josephson — the sole occupant — was taken to a local hospital where he died shortly after arrival, said Sgt. Chris Widmer, spokesman for the Tucson Police Department.

The truck was northbound on Country Club Road when it “drifted across the southbound lanes of Country Club Road, jumped the curb and hit a wooden utility pole on the west side of the street,” Widmer said.

Country Club Road between East Fourth and East Hawthorne streets was closed for much of the morning while detectives investigated the crash.
