Two officers on patrol Friday night sniffed out a marijuana grow house on the north side.
They “smelled a strong odor of fresh marijuana” just before 8 p.m., Sgt. Pete Dugan, spokesman for the Tucson Police Department, said in a Facebook post.
The officers traced the smell to a house in the 2600 block of North Forgeus Avenue, near North Tucson Boulevard and East Grant Road.
The officers got a search warrant and SWAT personnel were called in to assist.
Two men at the house were arrested.
Inside, officers found “an elaborate grow operation,” Dugan said. “Over 150 marijuana plants in various stages of development were seized from the residence, as well as multiple weapons and ammunition.”
Dugan said no further information would be available until Monday.
