A second arrest has been made in the November killing of a homeless Tucson man.

John Grayling Agee, 52, was arrested Thursday in connection with the Nov. 22 death of Owen McNutt, 34.

Agee was booked into the Pima County jail and faces one count each of first-degree murder, felony murder, armed robbery and aggravated robbery, Tucson Police Department spokesman Sgt. Pete Dugan said in a news release.

Shane Blevins, 36, who was in jail on an unrelated case, faces the same charges in McNutt’s slaying. He was identified as a suspect Tuesday.

McNutt’s body surfaced after heavy rains filled the normally dry Santa Cruz River.

The body was retrieved by Tucson Fire Department firefighters north of West Saint Mary’s Road, near North Riverside Drive.

McNutt and the two men accused in his killing were acquaintances, police spokesman Sgt. Chris Widmer said earlier this week.

Detectives believe Agee and Blevins lured McNutt into a wash, where the victim was beaten, robbed and killed, Widmer said.

Anyone with information should call 911 or 88-CRIME.
