A man was in serious condition Wednesday after being shot at a residence on the city's north side.

Police responded at 5:34 p.m. to the 3100 block of North Winstel Boulevard to a report of a shooting, said Sgt. Chris Widmer, a Tucson Police Department spokesman.

The neighborhood is south of East Fort Lowell Road and west of North Alvernon Way.

Police found a man with gunshot trauma who was treated by Tucson Fire Department paramedics and taken to the hospital in serious condition, Widmer said.

A second man in the parking lot of the residence had been assaulted, and was taken by paramedics with injuries that were not life-threatening to a hospital, said Widmer.

A third man was detained by police at the scene. He is believed to be the shooter, Widmer said. A woman also was being questioned about the shooting.

No further information was immediately available.
