A Douglas man was arrested Sunday night in connection with a shooting, a Cochise County sheriff’s official said.
Just before 8:30 p.m., a 33-year-old Douglas man had been shot in the arm at a home in the 400 block of West Irvine Avenue near West McKinley Street. A neighbor took the wounded man to a local hospital, Carol Capas, spokeswoman for the Cochise County Sheriff’s Office, said in a news release.
Sheriff’s Deputies and Douglas Police Department officers learned three men were arguing with the victim before shots were fired, Capas said. The victim knew two of the men by name.
One of the suspects, Abraham Gonzalez, 26, was arrested at his family’s home in Douglas.
Gonzalez was booked into the Cochise County jail and faces charges of attempted murder, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, endangerment and recklessly discharging a firearm.
Additional arrests are expected, Capas said.
