A teenager was seriously injured after he was struck by a car on Tucson's west side Wednesday.

The teen was treated by paramedics and transported to a hospital, said Sgt. Pete Dugan, a Tucson Police Department spokesman.

His condition was not immediately available.

The teen got out of a bus at a stop on West Ironwood Hill Drive, just east of North Greasewood Road, Dugan said.

He then "ran in front of the bus to cross the street, and a car passing the bus struck the teen," Dugan said.

It appears no citations will be issued to the driver of the car, Dugan said. He said speed and alcohol were not factors in the incident.
