Tucson police have released the names of the people who died in an apparent murder-suicide.

Police suspect that 35-year-old Alicia Carrillo was strangled by Daniel Ornelas, 34, who then shot himself, Sgt. Chris Widmer, a Tucson Police Department spokesman, said in a news release.

Police were called to the 5900 block of South Randall Boulevard just before 1 a.m. Saturday by relatives who had gone to a house to check on the couple. Relatives hadn’t been able to contact the pair Friday evening and found the bodies inside the home near East Drexel Road and South Park Avenue.

The murder-suicide finding remains a preliminary one, Widmer said.
