The president of a Tucson elementary school PTA was arrested for voyeurism after he took a photo of a teenaged girl in a clothing store dressing room, police said.

Aaron Lee Garibay, 31, was booked into the Pima County jail April 24 in connection with the incident that occurred April 13 in a thrift store on East 22nd Street. Voyeurism Class 5 felony.

The mother of the 17-year-old victim called police after the teen saw someone in an adjoining dressing room hold a cell phone over the top of the wall to take a photo of her. The teen and her mother confronted Garibay before calling the police, said Sgt. Pete Dugan, spokesman for the Tucson Police Department.

“Detectives confirmed the 17-year-old’s story by looking at surveillance video,” Dugan said.

The video showed Garibay was not carrying any clothing when he entered the dressing room.

Garibay is president of the parent teacher association at Steele Elementary School in the Tucson Unified School District. Steele Elementary is at 700 S. Sarnoff Drive between East Broadway and East 22nd Street.
