A 55-year-old woman involved in a three-vehicle crash on Nov. 27 died Sunday night.

Yolanda Ugalde was driving a Suzuki Aerio when she was struck by a Kia Del Sol that ran a red light at North Oracle Road and East Wetmore Road shortly before 10:30 p.m. Nov. 27, Sgt. Maria Hawke, a Tucson police spokeswoman said in a news release.

Police determined the Kia was traveling north on Oracle Road and passed other cars stopped for a red light by driving in the right turn lane, the release said.

The Suzuki was westbound in the inside left turn lane of East Wetmore Road and was preparing to make a left turn to drive southbound on North Oracle Road when the driver's door was struck by the Kia, the release said.

The impact caused the Suzuki to rotate and the rear of the car hit the driver's door of a Honda Accord preparing to turn southbound onto Oracle Road in the outside left turn lane.

The driver of the Kia had minor injuries and remained at the scene.

The drivers of the Suzuki and Honda and three passengers were taken to the hospital for injuries ranging from minor to life threatening.

"There was no indication that the use of drugs or alcohol was a factor in the collision," the release said.

The investigation is ongoing.
