A six-month Tucson Police Department investigation into the trafficking of stolen gold, silver and gemstones has resulted in the arrest of three people.

In October 2012, the TPD received information that the business, Gold Time Now,  4881 E. Speedway, was buying stolen gold and other precious metals. The TPD Property Trafficking Unit initiated an investigation into the business and confirmed stolen gold was being purchased. Investigators also discovered an associated business, Cash Express, 4202 E. Speedway, was purchasing stolen gold, Sgt. Chris Widmer, spokesman for the Tucson Police Department, said in a news release.

Tuesday, investigators served search warrants on the two businesses, plus a third associated company, City Wide Auto Sales, 2865 N. Oracle Road, and a home in the 4100 block of East Stone River Drive in a neighborhood northwest of North Columbus Boulevard and East Fort Lowell Road, Widmer said.

“Detectives seized a large amount of gold, silver, diamonds, jewelry, cash and electronics between the Gold Time Now and Cash Express businesses,” Widmer said. “The value of the property seized was estimated to be in the tens to hundreds of thousands of dollars.”

The investigation also resulted in three people being booked into the Pima County jail:

• Albert Gavrielov, 33, owner of Gold Time Now, is facing two counts of trafficking in stolen property.

• Anzhela Maksumov, 34, Garvielov’s wife and an employee at Gold Time Now, is facing five counts of trafficking in stolen property.

• Moshe Biniaminov, 36, owner of Cash Express, is facing one count of trafficking in stolen property.
