Two men have been arrested in the death of a woman whose body was found Wednesday on Redington Road east of Tucson.

Richard Radvansky, 31, and Jesse Ray Simonsen, 27, were booked into the Pima County jail. Each faces a count of manslaughter in the death of Melissa Sparks, 28.

At about 6:40 a.m. Thursday, Radvansky flagged down a car and “told the driver that his friend committed suicide and asked him to call the police,” Deputy Jesus Bañuelos, spokesman for the Pima County Sheriff’s Department, said in a news release.

The victim’s body was found on the side of the road.

“Deputies spoke to Mr. Radvansky about the incident and learned there was another person involved,” Bañuelos said.

“Deputies located Mr. Simonsen a few miles down Redington Road and detained him,” he said.

That’s when homicide detectives were called to the scene and the two men admitted to being with Sparks earlier in the morning, Bañuelos said.

The investigation is ongoing.
