Two teenagers were thrown from an SUV when it crashed into a light pole on the Interstate 10 frontage road early Sunday morning.

The crash happened at 4:12 a.m. on the southbound frontage road between Speedway and Congress Street.

A 16-year-old boy had injuries that were considered life-threatening and a 16-year-old girl had serious injuries, said Sgt. Chris Widmer, a Tucson police spokesman.

The 21-year-old driver of the SUV also had serious injuries.

No other information was immediately available.
