Video: Pima County deputies help catch 'evaders' in Tucson desert

Deputies used a department plane to help find a car that had evading Tucson police early Friday morning.

In a short video the Pima County Sheriff's Department released Friday afternoon, grainy images show how the vehicle was tracked to a desert area on Tucson's southwest side about 1:30 a.m.

A tire-deflation device flattened the vehicle's tires, but the driver continued in the desert near West Ajo Way and South Marstellar Road.

The car finally came to a stop and its five occupants were apprehended without incident.

The driver faces multiple charges, including DUI, unlawful flight from law enforcement and driving on a suspended license.
