A woman in her 50s was critically injured after being thrown from her vehicle in a rollover on Tucson's northwest side Monday morning.

The single-vehicle crash happened near Silverbell and Belmont roads, south of Sunset Road, said Capt. Adam Goldberg, a Northwest fire spokesman said in a news release.

Silverbell Road is expected to be closed in the area in both directions for several hours.

The woman was taken by ambulance to the University of Arizona Medical Center Trauma Center.

The Pima County Sheriff's Department is investigating the cause of the crash.
