An Oro Valley woman was sentenced Monday to 40 years in prison for sexual exploitation of minor.

Melissa Ann Gordy pleaded guilty in Pima County Superior Court to two counts of sexual exploitation of a minor and one count of sexual exploitation of a minor in the second degree.

Court documents say she and her husband, Charles Wesley Lewis, sexually molested a 14-year-old relative. In addition, court documents say Gordy videoed some of the sexual abuse incidents.

A sentencing memo Gordy’s attorney filed said she had lived a normal and productive life working as an accountant until she married Lewis. The memo blames Lewis for Gordy’s descent into a life of depravity and abuse.

Lewis, who faces dozens of charges related to the abuse, is scheduled to stand trial in September.

In addition to four decades in prison, Gordy was sentenced to lifetime probation.
