A woman from Mexico was arrested Tuesday trying to smuggle six pounds of heroin in an undergarment.
Eduwiges Valdez-Castro, 45, of Nogales, Sonora, was stopped at the Nogales port of entry for a search of her Mitsubishi SUV, according to a news release from U.S. Customs and Border Protection.
While stopped, officers also searched Valdez-Castro, who was hiding three packages of heroin wrapped around her thighs and crotch, held in by her girdle.
The drugs had a street value of more than $86,000.
The vehicle and heroin were processed for seizure. Valdez-Castro was referred to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Homeland Security Investigations.
