An employee was arrested Thursday in connection with a sexual assault of an elderly woman who lived at Villa Maria Care Center, police said.

Kenneth Wilson, 47, was booked into the Pima County jail on two counts each of sexual assault and sexual abuse, and one count of emotional abuse of a vulnerable adult, said Sgt. Pete Dugan, a Tucson Police Department spokesman.

On Dec. 9, police received information about a 79-year-old woman who was being sexually assaulted and sexually abused while residing at the care center, 4310 E. Grant Road, Dugan said.

The woman said the incidents happened on several occasions throughout 2013 by a certified nursing assistant who worked at the center, said Dugan.

Police detectives from the elder-abuse unit and agents from the Arizona Attorney General’s Office began an investigation and established probable cause for Wilson’s arrest, Dugan said.

During the investigation, the care center cooperated with authorities, said Dugan.
