Retired businessman Jim Brown has confirmed he is getting out of the Congressional District 1 race, lending his political support to another Republican candidate, rancher Gary Kiehne.

Brown, who announced his candidacy in September and filed candidate paperwork to run for Congress in District 1 in January, isn't leaving the political arena.

Brown said he will run as candidate in District 2, running against Martha McSally, Chuck Wooten and Shelley Kais in the primary election in the Republican primary in August.

The winner in the primary will face incumbent Democrat Ron Barber, who is seeking re-election.
