On The Buckmaster Show today, Congressional District 3 candidate Gabriela Saucedo Mercer said she’s staying in the race despite meager first-quarter fundraising.

Saucedo Mercer said, “I am (in) for the long run, even if I have to do it on a shoestring.”

The Republican candidate raised $1,951 in the first quarter, according to a report filed with the Federal Election Commission. The campaign was in the red at the end of the first quarter.

“I am in the race,” Saucedo Mercer told Buckmaster. “This girl is not quitting.”

She said she is “getting started” on fundraising, gathering signatures and knocking on doors to talk to voters, and planning to reach out to independent voters.
