Contractors with the city of Tucson's Department of Transportation will close the Grant Road and Oracle Road intersection on Monday (Sept. 9) night.
The temporary closure will allow workers to rebuild the intersection and is expected to reopen to through travel at 5:30 a.m. Tuesday morning.
The intersection will be closed every night until Thursday morning.
During the nighttime closures, right turns in all four travel directions will be allowed.
The intersection work is part of the $7.5 million RTA-funded project that will widen Grant Road to six lanes from 15th Avenue to Castro Street with median island left turn lane modifications along Oracle Road from Alturas Street south to Rillito Street.
As part of the roadway widening, the intersection of Grant Road and Oracle road will be rebuilt to allow for indirect left turns at the intersection.
