His name is Butters, a 5-year-old Sharpei mix described as a "mellow and affectionate guy" who was picked up while on a stroll around Reid Park golf course.

He has been a guest at the Pima Animal Care Center longer than any other pet at the adoption center and now is 1 of 72 animals being offered at a discount in hopes of being adopted between Friday and Sunday.

Pima Animal Care Center, according to a press release, is running "a Forget-Me-Not Special" to help Butters and animals who have been at the shelter for week find homes in the 72 hour period.

The animals are free, however, license fees (which are $15 for spayed or neutered dogs) still apply.
