The third annual Arizona Insect Festival is this Sunday in the grand ballroom of the University of Arizona Student Union, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

In addition to eating bugs, you can play the Arthropod Zoo game, build a bug, pet a roach, and learn the plusses and minuses of controlling pests with transgenic crops.

This kid-friendly event attracted 5,000 visitors last year and has been expanded to accommodate even more.

Some of the brightest minds in the bug biz will help you understand the important role bugs play in our ecosystems.

Visit the website for more details and read more in Friday's Arizona Daily Star.
