A red-flag warning is in effect for Southeastern Arizona from noon today until 8 p.m. and again on Saturday afternoon through evening.

Dry conditions, coupled with high winds, mean any fires that start have the potential for rapid growth and spread, according to the National Weather Service.

Sustained winds of 20-to-25 mph with gusts up to 40 mph are predicted, with humidity readings as low as 10 percent.

The warning covers Cochise, Graham, Greenlee and Santa Cruz counties, and a big swath of eastern Pima County, including Tucson.
