The Salvation Army hosted its 30th annual Thanksgiving day meal at Saint Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church at 1145 E Fort Lowell Rd, Tucson, AZ on Thursday, November 28. More than 150 volunteers, staff and employees prepared and prepared nearly 3000 meals to people at the church and to about 500 home bound people through Meals On Wheels. Guests were treated to mesa of turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, cranberry sauce, yams and an assortment of pies. In addition the Shyann Kindness Project handed out toys and books to children in attendance. The Philoptochos Society , ladies philanthropic organization for St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church, provided clothing for the needy and sandwiches to go.
