An elderly man was struck by a car Monday night at West Congress Street and Granada Avenue, authorities said.

A 911 caller reported that at about 7:30 p.m. a man was struck by a car at that intersection, said Capt. Barrett Baker of the Tucson Fire Department.

Paramedics treated the man before taking him to a hospital with serious injuries, Baker said.

No further information was immediately available.
