Customs and Border Protection officers intercepted a box of bird eggs last week at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport.

An international passenger who flew in to Phoenix from Kenya underwent an extensive agricultural inspection upon arriving, according to a news release from CBP.

An agriculture specialist found a plastic box containing 103 small bird eggs inside the woman's suitcase.

The owner claimed they were to be used as medicine for her heart. The raw eggs were seized and destroyed.

The woman was not fined but she was told not to bring these items into the United States in the future.
