The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee will run a one-minute radio ad criticizing Rep. Martha McSally's support for repealing the Affordable Care Act for the next three weeks.
The ad, Waiting, is part of a six-figure ad campaign - the DCCC’s largest radio ad campaign to date - attacking House Republicans on proposed cuts to health care.
“Rep. Martha McSally will stop at nothing to rip away affordable healthcare coverage from her constituents, and we are all at risk as long as she’s in office,” said DCCC spokeswoman Rachel Irwin.
The ads will air on KHYT, KIIM, KNST, KMXZ, and KTUC in Congressional District 2.
Additionally, the DCCC has bought a number 30-second ads on CNN and MSNBC this week in the Tucson media market to run a different message.
The television ads focus on House Speaker Paul Ryan and will start running today in AZ-02.
Text of the one minute radio ad:
"It’s…the waiting. Flipping through a magazine…waiting for the nurse to call your name. Sitting at the edge of the examining table…waiting for the doctor to return. Checking your phone…waiting for those test results. All the while, wondering: “Can I even afford to pay for this?” And, “Will I survive without the care?”
And now, for nearly a year, Congresswoman Martha McSally keeps you waiting and wondering, too. For what she will do next to your health care.
Congresswoman McSally already voted to raise your out-of-pocket costs and premiums. To gut Medicaid, and treatment for opioid addiction. Impose what the AARP calls a devastating Age Tax if you’re fifty or older. And end guaranteed coverage for preexisting conditions like asthma, diabetes, even cancer.
Your Congresswoman, Martha McSally, hasn’t stopped trying to repeal your health care. No more waiting. Let’s change Washington."
