The Arizona Department of Transportation will hold two outreach events in the Tucson area to solicit public comment for the agency’s study on a possible passenger rail line between Tucson and Phoenix.

ADOT will set up booths at the Marana Main Street Festival on April 5 and the Pima County Fair on April 18-19.

The agency is seeking feedback on three potential routes that have been selected for further study:

  • The Green alternative, which would run along Interstate 10 between Tucson and Phoenix.
  • The Orange alternative, which would serve Phoenix area’s East Valley.
  • And the Yellow alternative, which also would serve the East Valley and share a right of way with the Union Pacific Railroad north of Eloy.

All three routes would run along I-10, south of Eloy to Tucson.

The public comment period lasts through May 31.
