The recipient of this week's Ben's Bell is BJ Godard.

Godard was nominated by a co-worker at University of Arizona Medical Center, Mercedes Saenz, who said she often goes out of her way to help patients and their families.

Godard, who works as an administrative specialist for the director's office at UAMC, has organized special events including weddings, birthday parties and graduations for hospitalized patients who couldn't attend those ceremonies, Saenz wrote in her nomination letter.

She also helps find Tucson businesses willing to donate services to patients and their families, ranging from wigs to spa days to tires for their vehicles.

"She does it with a smile, always wanting to keep our patients and families as comfortable as possible when they are the guests of UAMC," Saenz wrote.

The project
