A 71-year-old Bisbee woman struck by a pickup truck on Thursday afternoon has died, according to Sierra Vista police.

Officers responded to emergency calls at 1:35 p.m. for a pedestrian collision at a Fry's Food and Drug Store on 4351 East Highway 90 in Sierra Vista.

They found Susan Dunbar laying on the ground while off-duty emergency nurses rendered aid, a department news release said.

Dunbar was walking through the parking lot pushing a shopping cart when a pickup truck knocked her down and ran her over, police say.

David Gomez, 38, was driving the vehicle and remained at the scene to provide aid to Dunbar.

Emergency personnel transported Dunbar to Canyon Vista Medical Center where she died, the release said.

Gomez had no initial signs of drug or alcohol impairment, the release said.

The incident remains under investigation.
