Border officers found more than 30 pounds of methamphetamine hidden in the rear bumper of a car been driven across the Nogales border crossing Sunday, officials said.
A drug dog at the Mariposa crossing alerted officers to a sedan being driven by Miguel Angel Osuna-Rojo, 40, of Mexico, according to a news release from U.S. Customs and Border Protection.
Officers pulled 33 packages of the drug from the bumper. The estimated street value was $512,000, the release said.
Osuna was referred to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement's Homeland Security Investigations.
