Nearly 5,200 pounds of marijuana and three vehicles were seized by border officers in southern Arizona.

Tucson Sector Border Patrol agents were working Sunday in a remote area near Naco when they responded to detection technology and discovered three abandoned vehicles, federal authorities say.

Inside the vehicles, agents found a combined 334 bundles of marijuana that has an estimated value of about $2.6 million.

The vehicles were seized and narcotics turned over to the Drug Enforcement Administration.
