A 56-year-old male Mexican national was arrested Sunday on suspicion of attempting to smuggle nearly 26 pounds of methamphetamine through the Dennis DeConcini Port of Entry in Nogales.

The drugs have a street value of nearly $400,000, according to a news release from Customs and Border Protection.

CBP officers at the port selected a Toyota sedan, driven by Jose Eduardo Garcia-Rocha, for further inspection after getting an alert from a drug dog.

Officers searched the vehicle and found 21 packages of meth in the rocker panels of the car, the release said.

The vehicle and drugs were seized. Garcia-Rocha was referred to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Homeland Security Investigations.
