An undocumented immigrant who has been living in sanctuary with his wife and son at Southside Presbyterian Church since May 13 has received a stay in his deportation case.

Daniel Neyoy Ruiz has been given a stay and is now able to leave church grounds and go home. He has been granted a year-long permit which can be renewed. Two previous requests for a stay had been rejected. His deportation case began in 2011 after he was pulled over because the exhaust pipe on his vehicle was emitting too much smoke.
