Fire crews from two departments contained a brush fire that endangered homes in the La Cholla Air Park on Friday afternoon.

Just before 2 p.m., crews from Golder Ranch and the Northwest Fire districts were called to the community when a brush fire broke out. The fire moved quickly through dry brush toward several homes.

Fire crews surrounded the blaze and kept it from spreading to the homes, according to a news release from Golder Ranch.

The fire burned about three acres and was caused by sparks from a welder.
