About 120 customers on the west side remained without power late Friday evening after a vehicle struck a power pole and knocked out electric service, authorities said.

Capt. Adam Goldberg, a spokesman for the Northwest Fire District, said the area without power was bounded roughly by Sweetwater Drive on the north, Camino de Oeste on the east, the alignment of Ironwood Hill Drive on the south and the Tucson Mountains to the west.

A somewhat larger area was affected immediately after power went out shortly before 9 p.m. But some power apparently was restored after Tucson Electric Power Crews arrived on the scene, Goldberg said.

He said it appeared some customers might not have power restored until midmorning Saturday.

There were no injuries when the vehicle struck the power pole, Goldberg said.
