A Tucson man arrested in connection with sexual exploitation of a minor committed suicide, police said.

Richard Braun, 50, who was arrested last Friday, was found dead in his home Tuesday, said Sgt. Chris Widmer, a Tucson Police Department spokesman.

Braun had recently been released from the Pima County jail, Widmer said.

In January, a tip was sent to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children about three photos depicting child sexual abuse that were uploaded to an online data storage website, police said.

The upload was traced to a home owned by Braun in the 1500 block of West Greenlee Street, near West Prince and North Romero roads.

At least two of the photos “appeared to be obviously child pornography,” according to a search warrant.

Braun was facing five felony counts of sexual exploitation of a minor.
