Teddy bears and roses adorned the fence outside the elementary school where shooting victim Christina-Taylor Green attended.

Students walked onto the schoolyard and stood in a circle to observe a moment of silence at 9 a.m. President Obama called for the moment of silence for all victims of Saturday’s deadly shooting in northwest Tucson.

At Mesa Verde Elementary School, signs on the fence included this one:

“Christina, we will miss you Love, CDO pirates” The sign included a picture of the little league baseball team on which Christina-Taylor played.

Amphi District spokesman Todd Jaeger said school staff was trying to keep things as normal today. Seven psychologists were on campus, working with staff and students.

Bill and Barbara Cogley, whose 6-year-old granddaughter attends Mesa Verde, visited the campus to give their granddaughter a hug.

“I can’t think of a place I’d rather be,” Barbara said.
