Authorities are asking the public for help in finding a man who robbed a northwest side Quick Mart on May 29.

The man, armed with a sawed off shotgun, walked into the Quick Mart at 900 W. Roger Road shortly after 3 a.m., and demanded money and cigarettes from the clerk, said Deputy Jesus Bañuelos, a Pima County Sheriff's Department spokesman.

The clerk complied, and the robber also demanded money from the safe. The clerk told the robber he could not get into the safe because it was time delayed, Bañuelos said.

The robber stole about 10 packages of Newport cigarettes and left the store.

He was described as 5 feet 8 inches tall with a thin build. He was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, which was pulled down around his face, said Bañuelos.

The robber also had black material concealing his face, Bañuelos said.

Anyone with information about the robber's identity is asked to call 911 or 88-CRIME.
