Nine bales of marijuana were seized from a parked vehicle Friday in the city of South Tucson.
At about 8:30 a.m. officers were dispatched to the 200 block of West 38th Street to a report of a suspicious vehicle, said Lt. Jeff Inorio, a South Tucson Police Department spokesman.
When officers arrived, they could smell marijuana coming from the vehicle and saw what appeared to be bales of marijuana inside the vehicle, Inorio said.
The vehicle was parked in a neighborhood east of South 10th Avenue on West 38th Street.
Detectives obtained a search warrant for the vehicle and a house. The Pima County Regional Special Weapons and Tactics team served the warrant.
Detectives found nine bales of marijuana weighing more than 200 pounds in the vehicle, and other evidence consistent with marijuana trafficking inside the house, Inorio said.
One person was taken into custody for questioning.
No further information was released.
Detectives ask that anyone with information call 911 or 88-CRIME.
