A man arrested for burglary after the resident came home to find him loading her possessions into his truck was sentenced to five years in prison.

Pima County Superior Court Judge Javier Chon-Lopez this week sentenced Robert Allen Mason to prison after a plea agreement.

Mason, 34, pleaded guilty to two counts of burglary in the second degree and one count of trafficking in stolen property.

Police arrested him in November 2012 when the resident of the househe was burglarizing came home to find Mason leaving with a pillowcase full of her belongings. After she called police, Mason led Pima County sheriff’s deputies on a two-mile car chase. He then ran off on foot before deputies captured him.

He originally faced fleeing law enforcement charges as well.
