A man who burglarized a northwest-side convenience store in 2012 was sentenced to jail and probation Tuesday.

David Aaron Mosseri, 31, pleaded guilty to solicitation of forgery and was sentenced to three years’ probation and 180 days in Pima County jail.

Pima County Superior Court Judge Paul Tang said he realized Mosseri has a drug problem but has tried to change his life for the benefit of his family.

“Meth is a demon of yours — but it’s not just you. It’s a scourge on our community right now,” Tang said.

After the initial burglary, detectives tracked stolen lottery tickets and checks and obtained surveillance photos of suspects who attempted to cash in the items at various locations.
