A 22-year-old man was  killed in a hit-and-run in the community of Catalina Tuesday morning, authorities said. A suspect was arrested in the case.

The victim was identified as Jacob Lee Wyckoff, said Deputy Tom Peine, a Pima County Sheriff’s Department spokesman.

Deputies were dispatched to the 15400 block of North Twin Lakes Drive at 7:36 a.m. for a report of a man down, said Peine.

Deputies found the victim deceased, lying on the dirt shoulder off the roadway against a fence.

Traffic investigators found out that the victim apparently had been struck by a vehicle that was traveling south on Twin Lakes Drive that headed onto the opposite side of the road where the victim was found, Peine said.

The suspect vehicle was identified as a black Ford F-150 Quad Cab truck, which was located less than a mile north of the incident, said Peine.

A short time after finding the vehicle, deputies arrested Andrew R. Perez, 24, who is facing leaving the scene of an accident involving death, Peine said.

Perez was booked into the Pima County jail.
