A 21-year-old man was arrested in connection with an armed robbery of a Circle K on the northwest side Sunday.
Tobias James Horton is facing one count of armed robbery and was booked into the Pima County Jail, said Deputy Jesus Bañuelos, a Pima County Sheriff's Department spokesman.
On Sunday at about 4:30 p.m., deputies were dispatched to the Circle K at 5365 N. La Cholla Boulevard, near West River Road for an armed robbery, Bañuelos said.
Deputies found out that the clerk was approached by a man with a weapon and demanded money from the register. The clerk complied and he gave a good description of the robber, Bañuelos said. The robber left the store on a bicycle.
Deputies searched the area and found the suspect within minutes on the Rillito River trail, near the convenience store, said Bañuelos.
The man was detained, and then arrested after he told deputies that he robbed the store, Bañuelos said.
Deputies also found the man in possession of an airsoft gun, which fires plastic pellets, that was used in the robbery, said Bañuelos.
Airsoft weaponry resembles firearms.
