Fire crews from two departments contained a brush fire that endangered homes in the La Cholla Air Park in Oro Valley Friday afternoon.
Just before 2 p.m., crews from the Golder Ranch and Northwest Fire districts were called to the community, near North La Cholla Boulevard and West Tangerine Road, when a brush fire broke out. The fire moved quickly through dry brush toward several homes.
Fire crews kept it from spreading to the homes, according to a news release from Golder Ranch.
The fire, caused by sparks from a welder, burned about three acres.
