A Pima County Sheriff’s Department deputy shot a man this morning during a confrontation at a domestic violence call on Tucson’s northwest side, officials say.
Deputies went to a house in the 6100 block of North Pepper Tree Lane about 5:15 a.m. after a woman reported arguing with her boyfriend, said Deputy Tom Peine, an agency spokesman.
He said at least two deputies were on the call. No deputy was injured.
The woman was inside the house near West Orange Grove Road and North Camino de La Tierra and deputies were outside talking to the boyfriend when he reached for some sort of weapon, Peine said.
One of the deputies shot the man, who has been taken to University of Arizona Medical Center. Details on the man's condition were not immediately available.
More details were expected later in the day.
