Authorities are searching for a man wanted in connection with a fatal crash in 2011.

An arrest warrant for manslaughter has been issued for Reyes Jovan Miranda, 27, who left the scene of a deadly crash on June 23, 2011, said Deputy Jesus Bañuelos, a Pima County Sheriff’s Department spokesman.

Traffic investigtors found out that Miranda was the driver of a 2002 Jaguar that struck a tree shortly before 3 a.m. in the  2300 block of West Drexel Road, Bañuelos said.

Miranda left the scene before deputies arrived.

Deputies found an injured man lying a few feet from the car, and another man was found trapped in the car. The trapped man, Ramon Jesus Steele, 25, was pronounced dead at the scene, said Bañuelos.

Investigators said that Miranda has possibly left the country and is living in Mexico, Bañuelos said.

The sheriff’s department Fugitive Investigative Strike Team are in search of Miranda, and ask that anyone with information on his whereabouts call 911 or 88-CRIME.
