Police have identified a homicide victim found in the trunk of a burned car Thursday afternoon on Tucson's southeast side.

He was Louie Sagala, 23, said Sgt. Chris Widmer, a Tucson Police Department spokesman. Sagala's hometown wasn't released.

An autopsy confirmed Sagala was the victim of a homicide, but detectives aren't releasing any other details, Widmer said Friday in a news release.

Widmer gave the following account:

Shortly after 3 p.m. Thursday, the Tucson Fire Department received reports of a car on fire at East Poinciana Drive and South Dogwood Avenue. The intersection is south of East Escalante Road and west of South Pantano Road.

While firefighters were putting out the blaze, they found the body in the trunk of what appeared to be a silver two-door car. Anyone with information is asked to call 911 or 88-CRIME.
