Tanee Natividad

A man who faced three trials in the 2001 killing of a Tucson schoolgirl was acquitted Friday.

Jurors delivered not guilty verdicts in the latest Pima County Superior Court trial against Max Montijo LaMadrid, who was accused in the slaying of Tanee Natividad.

Natividad, then a 16-year-old Palo Verde High School student, was shot in the head and killed in November 2001 while driving away from an eastside fast-food restaurant where a fight and shooting had occurred.

The two previous cases LaMadrid faced ended in mistrial as jurors were unable to reach unanimous verdicts.
