A 34-year-old Mexican national from Nogales, Sonora, was arrested Tuesday for attempting to smuggle $90,000 in unreported U.S. currency into Mexico through the Dennis DeConcini Port in Nogales, Ariz.

Customs and Border Protection officers conducting inspections of vehicles heading into Mexico selected a Ford truck driven by Cesar Olea Vazquez, for further inspection. A drug dog alerted the officers to the presence of contraband and upon further inspection officers found the currency underneath the front seat, a news release from the agency said.

The vehicle and cash were seized; Olea was arrested.
